To prove that not only textiles are reusable, this exhibition is entirely focused on the recycling of an old tree. Forty designers of different fields where invited to make something out of the pieces of the tree Daisy. Sunday was the great opening and the exhibition is still on display till november 29 at Nutshuis The Hague. Liked some pieces you saw on the exhibition? November 29 the pieces will be auctioned and you can already place a bid on their website here. A new tree will be planted with the money that’s raised with the auction.
Me, Natalie de Koning, was also invited and made an outfit with the wood pieces, check out my outfit here.

Hello Noldies! You all heard about our dip ‘n dye festival concept I assume. The summer is almost over, but we still give you one more change to dip ‘n dye your own or our vintage pieces. Next saturday, I am Nold is present at Magneet Festival in Amsterdam. Soooo, come visit us and don’t forget to bring cash and, if you like, something from your own wardrobe to paint! More info about the event here.

Another impression. This time of an event we did last saturday: Barre Tijden Pineapple Party at beachclub Indigo in Scheveningen. I am Nold and the ‘Pretoria Girls’ gave the public the full treatment: pineapple outfits (sewing, dying and pineapple stencils), make-up and nails

Make Something Nold Workshops summer 2013
This summer, besides the weekly sewing workshops, we are also giving a few one-day workshops in I am Nold’s studio. Now, besides sewing you own clothes, it’s also possible to learn how to (dip-)dye your own clothes!
One-day workshop: (Dip-)dye your own (vintage) piece
Does your wardrobe need some more colour or do you have one piece you really love but the colour is just dull? With this one-day workshop it’s possible for you and your friends to learn how to change the colours in your wardrobe in a bit! You’ll learn how to prepare the colours and dye your pieces in a way that’s sustainable for your closet.
Of course all painting supplies are available at the lessons (biodegradable paint, buckets etc.). It’s possible to bring an own piece that you’d like to paint (it has to be made from natural fibres though, like cotton, silk, wool, hennep or linen and is preferred to have a light colour or non at all). Besides that it’s also possible to choose one vintage piece at the studio to dye. Coffee, thee and lunch are also included.
What time? 11.00 AM – 3.00 PM
Where? Pontanusstraat 278, Amsterdam
When? July 18, 25 and 30
Price? 70 euro
More info or want to sign up? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am Nold is currently working on the preparations for an upcoming event, where we will perform the ‘I am Nold dip-dye fishing experience’! Like last time at Trash & Treasures there will be plenty of vintage items to dip in our ecological pool of dye :)
Sunday, July 7th, Nold will be present at Krijg De Kleren Kledingruil in Amsterdam Roest. At this event you can trade your summer clothes, the pieces you don’t wear anymore, for others and at Nolds you’ll be able to dip-dye these. Nold is hoping to see you at Krijg de Kleren in it’s hometown! xx
Last friday Nolds headquarter was transformed into a true party place to celebrate the book launch of 'Dear Fashion Diary'! The book is a ‘diary letting you document your fashion life, discover your taste and become your own style curator’, according to the creators Emmi Ojala and Laura de Jong. They made a beautifully designed and illustrated DIY book to help you develop a more self-conscious and sustainable wardrobe and style. Which clearly fits perfect with I am Nold's vision and style! Therefore we were pleased hosting this successful book launch. These pictures will give you an idea of the launch party.
This friday, book launch of this amazing new book ‘Dear Fashion Diary’ and it’s in I am Nold’s studio! Great collaboration. Looking forward to it! Are you also poppin’ by for a drink? More info about the event here.
